| GAF 2nd alarm fire |
Wed. Oct 22nd 2008
On Wednesday Oct 22 at approx. 7pm the Box was struck for a report of a fire in the rear of the GAF manufacturing plant. On arrival FF Schulz reported a working structure fire, on arrival of Engine 1, Lt. Barrett requested a 2nd alarm to be struck and reported a large asphalt storage tank on fire with extension to the building. Crews immediatley set up two large streams to cool the tank and extinguish the fire on the building. Mutual aid companies supplied water to the ladder pipe and the fire was quickly extinguished. The haz-mat trailer was set up due to large amounts of water flowing through the product and into the streams. Thanks to Pat Travers from Nefirephoto.com for his great shots.
